My story.
The Beginning
I began my journey in Canada as a spa receptionist a few months before the pandemic. Before my arrival, spa attendants often answered the phones themselves, juggling pleasant customers and time-wasters alike.
It didn’t take long to grasp how crucial and multifaceted the role of a receptionist/concierge was — answering phone calls & texts, directing customers to the right rooms, keeping the rooms clean during busy times, laundry, keeping the spa well stocked with sheets and toiletries, keeping an account of the profits and more. The clientele had improved in terms of quality and quantity over time and I felt elated.
Creating Order and Comfort
The ladies at the spa seemed incredibly relaxed and could focus on their work, thanks to the structure I helped establish. Our humble spa transformed into a bustling, professional enviroment with a sense of order. I took pride in creating a homely environment for the ladies while keeping a professional front with clients.
The concept of a "House Mom" for SWers, which I discovered on TikTok, resonated with me. I've always had a nurturing yet solution-oriented side, hence the nickname "Fairy Godmother."
The Pandemic Pivot
Then the pandemic hit, and spas were shut down. The SW community had to pivot. The world may have come to a standstill, but the bills did not. Many of the ladies had to adapt and find new ways to work, often going independent.
Becoming a Virtual Receptionist
Pretty soon, the ladies realized how challenging it was to answer texts, phone calls, and schedule appointments while maintaining a professional image. They reached out to me and I became a booker, a virtual receptionist, and a confidante.
Through research and experience, I started creating simple websites, assisted with photoshoot planning and found them incalls to work from which helped the ladies present a legitimate and upgraded business front. Watching them thrive ever since has been incredibly fulfilling.
Providing Personalized Support
I’ve been fortunate enough to work with 1-2 ladies every month at a time for over 4 years now on a word of mouth basis, which allowed me to give them a lot more attention and personalized help. Recently, I decided to open up my availability with a social media presence and realized that as time went by, the role of companions now involved multiple responsibilities more than ever.
Affordable Assistance
I understand that everyone starts somewhere and should get a chance to upgrade their life and biz without finances being an obstacle or an added stress. It also helps test the waters and see if we are a good fit within the first few months of working together.
